CIF Numbers - An opportunity for each student registration:
Children
who are enrolled in ECFE classes will now be able to receive a CIF
(Census Information Form) number. When you fill out an ECFE enrollment
card, you will also be given a Student Information Form to fill out for
your child. This will result in a CIF (or Student Identification)
number for your child, which will stay with your child throughout your
child's school years in Saint Paul, whether in a public or private school. Please bring to All City Registration: a copy of your child's
birth certificate, passport, I-94 form (a child who was born in another
country but has gone through the immigration process) or other
identification paper from other countries.
The CIF numbers help us to:
- Support
local or national research data on children 0-5 years old. The research
will help ECFE stay current with the latest parent/child developments
and best practices, ensuring ECFE's longevity.
- The
CIF number is required for every child entering Kindergarten in Saint
Paul. This new system simply allows us to begin tracking children
earlier. We are particularly interested in discovering special needs in
children with our earlier health screening goals - physical, mental
health or social service needs, and then assuring each child's needs
are met.
- Alert parents for Kindergarten screening if the child has not been screened earlier.
Thank
you for supporting the new CIF numbers. With this system in place, we
hope to improve our services to children and families in Saint Paul!
