ECFE Volunteer Program Testimonials
Read what volunteers said about their experience working with ECFE:
“After working for McDonough’s ECFE program for one semester, I have gained great experience and a wider perspective and understanding of the many cultures the United States of America holds. I have explored a new area of my life in which I had never considered before: teaching. I have learned much about myself through assisting others in the ECFE program, as well as learning about others and their own cultures. This experience has inspired me to go further in pursuing a career that integrates teaching and working with multicultural persons. I will always be thankful that I was able to have an opportunity to work for ECFE and the memories and experience will be a part of me as I continue to grow."
"It has been such a joy to work with the dear students in the ECFE program. I can’t express the rewarding feelings to help these eager and hard-working people, who are so deserving of our efforts. These efforts on our parts are truly gifts to them. When I walk into the classroom I see great big smiles of welcome.”
One of our Family Literacy Adult ELL students offered this moving testimonial about the volunteer who worked with her:
“She is a good teacher. When I come to ECFE I didn’t know everything. She helped me a lot. Also, she is patient, kind, and friendly. She knows how to teach like me. She is the best volunteer I know in my life.”
